A thirty-two-year-old Grand Anse resident slapped with four counts of alleged sex-related offences meted out to a minor has been placed on twelve thousand dollars bail.
Chief Magistrate Tamara Gill presiding at the Number one Magistrate Court in St. George’s last Friday had the accused man Allan Mathew placed on bail having faced no objection, from the state prosecution team.
Mathew who originally hails from the parish of St John faces two counts of sexual assault and two counts of indecent assault.
According to information reaching the Grenada Informer the victim who was listed as above the age of thirteen and under the age of sixteen resides in a residential complex building in the south of the island where Mathew frequently visited as a maintenance person.
During his brief stint in court last Friday represented by defence lawyer Francis Williams, Mathew was ordered by the court to stay away from that building until the matter is completed.
Mathew is expected to make his second court appearance on December 10th where preliminary inquiry into the matter is likely to get started.
Meanwhile, if convicted, Mathew faces twenty-eight years on two counts of sexual assault and ten years on two counts of indecent assault.
