A fifty-nine-year-old man from the village of La Sagesse in St. David’s, slapped with eighteen counts of sexual misconduct against a minor has been denied bail.
The accused, Cyril Joseph, a security guard by profession was remanded to the Richmond Hill Prison on Wednesday by Chief Magistrate Tamara Gill after making his first appearance at the St George’s Magistrate Court.
According to information reaching the Grenada Informer, Joseph faces seven counts of Sexual Assault, ten counts of Indecent Assault and one count of Sexual Intercourse with a Minor.
Sources told this newspaper that Joseph, no stranger to the court on matters relating to sexual misconduct against minors, was arrested by law enforcement officers last week after reports of alleged repeated sexual acts against a minor dating back to January of 2019 were brought to the attention of the police.
During his brief stint in court on Wednesday, Joseph who was not required to plead since the charges against his are indictable is expected to make his second court appearance on July 25th.
