CaribWorldNews, NEW YORK, NY, on. Nov. 30, 2009: Famed Trinidad-born doctor, physician Muriel Petioni, was this weekend honored in the Bronx.
The Trinidad and Tobago GAYAP organization honored Dr. Petioni at its Holiday Fete de Noel Dinner Dance on Saturday in the Bronx.
Petioni, born in Port-of-Spain in 1914, served New York as a physician and activist for decades, according to the New York Daily News.
She maintained a private practice serving predominately disadvantaged patients for more than 40 years.
