News Americas, ATLANTA, GA, Weds. Aug. 15, 2018: A Caribbean-American born baseball player left tongues wagging Monday night as he made his debut for the Atlanta Braves in stellar fashion.

Pembroke Pines, FL-born, Haitian-American, Touki Toussaint, debut in Major League Baseball, became a reality Monday afternoon, with his mother and family on hand to see it.
Toussaint, 22, born Dany Gilbert Kiti “Touki”Toussaint did not disappoint. He pitched six innings, allowing just one run as he helped the Braves to 9-1 win over the Marlins.

“It was surreal going out there,” he said after. “I was just trying to go out there and compete. No expectations and give the team a chance to win.”

“He wasn’t rushing, he was getting himself together and taking it a pitch at a time,” added Braves manager Brian Snitker, who indicated Toussaint will be a strong candidate to make another start this month. “It was impressive. … He can throw (the curveball) for strikes. He’s got a feel for what he’s doing.”

The debut is especially thrilling considering Toussaint’s contract was only purchased on August 13, 2018 and he made his major league debut the next day.
