A vehicular accident claimed the life a police officer on Saturday 3rd April. The incident took place in La Fortune, St.Patrick just a few feet away from where the dead man, Corporal Andrew Frederick was stationed.
Forty-seven year old Corporal Frederick, attached to the Fire Department at the Sauteurs Police Station died after being hit by an oncoming vehicle upon exiting a passenger bus. According of a release from the Royal Grenada Police Force Community Relations Department, Mr. Frederick was pronounced dead upon arrival at the General Hospital.
The other death involved Inspector Harold Frame who was Station Manager at Sauteurs Police Station. He died of natural causes.
According to a statement, the Royal Grenada Police Force is deeply saddened over the deaths, within two months, of two of their fellow police officers who were both attached to the Sauteurs Police Station.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Franklin Redhead, the passing of any officer impacts the entire force. He said the Police Force family is certainly mourning the loss of the two police officers and will be rendering as much support to their families as possible.
Police investigation into the incident involving the officer killed by the vehicle continues.
