PM's Former Security Advisor on Bail for Sex Related Offenses

Head of Security operations for Grenada’s Prime Minister Dr Hon. Keith Mitchell has found himself on the other side of the law having been slapped with four counts of sexual misconduct.

Cletus St Paul a man well known for his no-nonsense approach in handling security details was slapped with three counts Indecent Assault and one count of Sexual Assault on Monday, some three months after formal complaints were made to the Royal Grenada Police Force by a young woman in the St. George’s area.

St Paul who is now on twenty-thousand dollars bail with two sureties is expected to go before the court to answer those charges on June 23rd.

The long-standing public officer who also served as personal bodyguard to Prime Minister Maurice Bishop during the People’s Revolutionary Government was accused of sexually molesting a young vulnerable woman on more than one occasion during her discourse of seeking housing assistant from the government.

The matter was reported to the RGPF who proceeded to launch a full investigation into the matter after which we were told instructions were given to the police high command by the Director of Public Prosecution to have charges laid against St Paul.

If convicted on all four counts St Paul can spend a maximum twenty-nine years behind bars.
