Reggae and dancehall recording artiste, Shakespear D-Dondadda, is mourning the death of his young son, Dimitri Demari Dyer, who reportedly died from illness.
In sharing a photograph of his son with his over 10,000 Instagram followers on Friday, the entertainer said he was completely broken by his child’s passing.
“Dear God… You completely broke me,” he wrote while using three heartbreak emojis to highlight the pain he is now feeling.
“Fly high my young prince. RIP Dimitri Demari Dyer #3D,” the artiste concluded.
Born Andre Dyer in Spanish Town, St Catherine, D-Dondadda relocated with his family to St Ann.
The artiste who is known for songs such as ‘Jah Jah’, ‘Still Alive’, ‘Wake Yuh Up’, ‘Put Me Outdeer’ and ‘Sun Still Shines’, has been receiving support from members of the entertainment fraternity and his fans.
“This can’t real at all mi bredda. Praying for healing to all your family my bro. So, so sorry,” wrote reggae/dancehall artiste Deepjahi.
Gospel singer Jodian Pantry shared: “Sigh, was such a handsome little prince. Nsy his sweet soul. RIP. Strength to you”.
Entertainer Prohgres commented: “Jah jah Kmt”.
Recording artiste, songwriter and producer Tonii Carise said her “heart sank” when she saw the post from D-Dondadda.
She added that, “There are no words on this earth to comfort you… But I send my love to you and your family at this time.
“I hope one day you will find peace among the chaos,” she stated.
Onstage TV, a television entertainment programme where D-Dondadda has been highlighted in the past, also sent condolences to the artiste.
“RIP… Another dancehall artiste is this morning mourning the loss of his son due to illness. The Onstage family sends our deepest condolences to @skakespearddondadda,” it wrote.
On his Instagram story, D-Dondadda also wrote the words, ‘I have failed’.
He questioned, as well, ‘A mi legacy stay strong how???’, adding a teary-eyed emoji at the end.
It is the second local artiste to lose a child this year.
On December 3, dancehall star Aidonia lost his nine-year-old son, Khalif Lawrence after a battle with cancer.
