St. Mark Resident Charged With Child Pornography

A St. Mark’s resident is charged with child pornography.

A 26-year-old construction worker was arrested and charged at the weekend with child pornography, after allegedly sending nude photos to an underage male via social media platform.

Sheldon Alexander of Samaritan in St. Mark’s appeared at the Gouyave Magistrate’s Court on Monday 12th November 2018, charged with the offence of child pornography for unlawfully inducing a child to an online relationship for a sexually explicit act.

He’s been charged under section 12 subsection 2 (3) of the Electronics Crimes Act, which states that:

-A person shall not knowingly and without lawful justification or excuse cultivate, entice or induce children to an online relationship with another child or an adult for a sexually explicit act, or in a manner that may offend a reasonable adult on the electronic system.

Alexander was granted bail in the sum of $20,000.00 bail with one surety. Up to press time, he remained in police custody.

Upon hearing of the charge several members of the public claimed it was the same Sheldon Alexander that made continuous calls to their phone on messenger trying to hold a conversation with them, most of them said they didn’t accommodate the conversation since it was someone they didn’t know or have on their contact list.

Another person told the Grenada Informer that because of the continuous calls made by the said Sheldon Alexander to her mobile she was forced to turn off the phone at nights since he continued to torment her through the messenger calls. Another lady said she was also forced to block and delete him because of the same disturbing continuous calls made by him.
