Sunwing Purchases Rex Hotel

The Sunwing Group has purchased the Grenadian by Rex Resort property.

This information was disclosed by Minister of Tourism Claris Modeste-Curwen at the government’s weekly post cabinet briefing on Tuesday at the Ministry of Works conference room.

Minister Modeste-Curwen told the media that the Sunwing Group has purchased four other properties but what concerns her most is what’s happening in Grenada. She noted that the government had legal issues with Rex Grenadian Hotel and believes the legal matter had been dropped due to the purchase by the Sunwing Group.

She said she’s happy that such a beautiful facility will be enhanced and upgraded with more rooms, also more job opportunities will be made available for Grenadians. On the other hand she highlighted that Silver Sands will be having their soft opening in November and their full opening will be in December. She noted that Silver Sands has already taken 200 new trainees that will be trained in all of the different areas so that in the next few weeks when they are open they will have quality services provided by Grenadians. It will also be an opportunity for farmers whereby they can sell their produce on a larger scale.
