Kennedy Budhlall: the overthrow of Eric Gairy was to save Bishop and Coard from the FBI for gun-running involving Chester Humphrey

45 years after the overthrow of Eric Gairy in a lightning coup d’etat by the Maurice Bishop-led New Jewel Movement (NJM), information has now come to light that the armed insurrection was really to save Maurice Bishop and Bernard Coard from possible arrest by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for gun-running along with trade unionist Chester Humphrey and the late Jim Wardally.
