During the 1960’s and 70’s, Dougaldston Estate in St John’s was one of the biggest producers of green bananas that were shipped weekly from Grenada to the United Kingdom.The original owners of the estate were brothers William and John Branch, two of the biggest players in the now defunct Grenada Co-operative Banana Society (GBCS).
